The tradition of working from 9-5 and leading a normal life is considered outdated and old-fashioned these days. It is not without reason. According to a recent census held in the USA, about 23 million people are self-employed. The number keeps on growing.
People today do not like to be bossed around. They prefer becoming self-sufficient and having control over their careers. They can grow immensely as per the hard work they put in. Unlike working under someone who fails to realize the effort you’re putting in and devalues you. People want to shape their own destiny. The margin for failure at the start is high but as time progresses things tend to change.
Less hours, More powers:
Some people who switched from working 15 hours a day to 30 hours a week explain that they were fed up of putting in so much effort and still achieving nothing. We are humans – not robots. We have to consider our feelings and emotions. Ask yourselves, who would you prefer to be? An emotionally distressed person or a person who’s earning the same but is much more happier with his life. People are more inclined to the idea of empowering themselves.
I am sure by this point you’ve already heard “A 9-5 job will never help you buy a Lamborghini”. It has never been more legit than in the world of today. The salary packages are unsatisfactory to say the least. People dream on becoming employers rather than employees. A recent study depicts that people are rowing towards entrepreneurship. They are becoming self-established rather than becoming a robot which utters ‘Yes, boss’ when needed.
Strict Regulations and Freelancers:
More and more people are fed up about the strict regulations at offices – coming on time and working over time. The trend of freelancing is catching more and more attention. Even employers feel that project-based commitments yield better results than a 9-5 worker ever could.
